About Us

Lodgephoto.com is the website of British photographer Mathew Lodge. Mathew took his first photograph with a simple Kodak viewfinder camera, developed the Ilford XP5 film and made his first print at the age of 10. Trained in traditional black and white photography and print-making, Mathew worked for a long time with a German viewfinder camera, lenses and a hand-held light meter, which led to a passion for available light photography. At university he was photographic director of the University newspaper and nominated for the prestigious London Guardian Media Awards. A career in business took him to San Francisco and enabled him to hone his travel photography skills, leading to the launch of the Lodge Photo website in 2003.

Today, Mathew works exclusively in digital and his photographs regularly appear in national newspapers, magazines, books and websites. Prints of his images reside in corporate and private collections world-wide.
